LS2 Helmets was officially launched in 2007 by the Liao family, who have been manufacturing motorcycle helmets in China since 1990, which began in a small rural workshop under the MHR brand label. The founder of LS2 Mr Peng Zheng invested about 350 Euros into the business and was only able to employ one team member. Twenty years later, Peng is still working for the company with the same passion and ambition that drove him to create the brand.

The demand for helmets and motorcycle riding gear grew rapidly, and within a couple of years, Peng expanded the business, hired more team members, and moved into larger factories. Pengs brother, Stephen Liao joined the company in 1992, and they started collaborating to develop a more structured international company.

By 1997, their helmets became a household name in China, and the brothers followed their ambitious goals to internationalise the company and take on the global market. They acquired further investment, opened new warehouses and manufacturing plants, and over the next few years earned ISO9000 accreditation. They continue to grow and develop the company by collaborating with other big-name international brands and now have warehouses in the USA and throughout the globe. In 2017, LS2 relaunched in Australia and now has distribution warehouses in Queensland and Victoria.
