Arai, the family-owned Japanese company, has worked tirelessly over the past sixty years specialising in manufacturing high-quality motorsports and motorcycle helmets. If you roll the calendar back forty years, motorcycle helmets were all very similar in their ability to protect the rider in the event of an accident. Mitch Arai was not happy with his products being considered to be the same average level of safety and wanted to level up to create something better. He not only wanted to be better, but set his goal to “be the number one helmet in the world” to improve rider safety if matched with a quality set of motorcycle riding gear.
Now, being considered to be 'number 1' can be classified in a number of different ways. The most racing championship titles? The most sales? The highest amount of money made from selling your products? The Arai team committed themselves to the level of safety and worked long hours for an extended period of time to improve and develop their helmet shell quality. They implemented a number of varying safety tests to challenge the level of protection their products offer from a wider variety of impacts.
After months of testing and technical developments, the Arai team was ready to unveil their products to the racing community to further collaborate and develop the brand. Since the early days, they committed to continuous improvement to ensure that they earn the title of "the number one helmet in the world” legitimately every year.
